Do you want to practice your English listening skills? 🎧
The best way is to listen to unscripted, natural speech. In today's vlog, I strapped a camera to my head and took my Shiba Inu, Alex, for a walk.
Here are the essential expressions you will hear in the video.
1. "Out of Service" 🛠️
We use this phrase when a machine or facility (like an elevator, ATM, or fountain) is not working.
In the video: The fountain in my community is out of service because of repairs.
2. "With all his might" 💪
This is a descriptive way to say "using maximum strength."
In the video: Alex wants to go his own way, so he pulls the leash with all his might.
3. "I don't get it" 🤷♂️
Native speakers often use this instead of "I don't understand."
It is very common when talking about art, jokes, or strange trends.
In the video: There are modern metal sculptures in the park. I don't hate them, but I don't get them.
4. "A habit of..." 🐕
We use this to describe a repeated action. It is often used for bad or annoying habits!
In the video: I have to be careful because Alex has a habit of stepping in other dogs' mess!
