Hello everyone, and welcome to On Your Mark’s English! 👋
Today we’re learning about the four future tenses in English — how we talk about things that haven’t happened yet!
Let’s start with a simple sentence:⚽ I play football.
Now let’s see how it changes in each future tense.
🌞 1. Future Simple
✅ I will play football tomorrow.
We use the Future Simple to talk about decisions made at the moment of speaking, or predictions about the future.
💡 Tip: Use will + base verb for quick decisions or things you believe will happen.
🕔 2. Future Continuous
✅ I will be playing football at 5 p.m.
We use the Future Continuous for actions that will be happening at a specific time in the future.
🧠 Tip: Use will be + verb-ing when you want to describe what you’ll be in the middle of doing.
🏁 3. Future Perfect
✅ I will have played football by the time you arrive.
We use the Future Perfect to talk about an action that will be finished before another future time or event.
🎯 Tip: Use will have + past participle when one future event will happen before another.
⏳ 4. Future Perfect Continuous
✅ I will have been playing football for an hour when you get here.
We use the Future Perfect Continuous to show how long an action will have been happening up to a certain point in the future.
⚡ Tip: Use will have been + verb-ing to focus on the duration of a future activity.
