Hello everyone, and welcome to On Your Mark’s English.
Today is Saturday, and this is Story Time! 📖
Here is a short story about a busy morning.
Me: "Hey! My car broke down. I’m going to be late!"
Friend: "Don't worry. I can drive. I’ll pick you up at your house."
Me: "Really? Thank you so much."
Friend: "Sure. Where do you need to go?"
Me: "Can you drop me off at the train station?"
Friend: "No problem! I'm on my way."
đźš— Did you hear the phrasal verbs?
Pick up
"Can you pick me up?"
This means to go somewhere to collect someone, usually in a car.
Drop off
"He dropped me off."
This means to take someone to a place and leave them there.
🧠Remember
Pick up = Collect someone. 🚙
Drop off = Leave someone at their destination. 📍
