Stop Saying "Very Funny"
When something makes you laugh, it is easy to say "It is very funny."
But if you laugh until your stomach hurts, "funny" isn't strong enough!
Native speakers use a specific word for things that are extremely funny.
Today's word is the perfect replacement for "very funny."
The Word: Hilarious 😂
1. See it in Context
Imagine you are watching a comedian, or your friend tells a joke that makes you cry with laughter.
You aren't just amused. You are entertained!
Example: "I watched a comedy show last night, and I laughed for two hours.
It was absolutely hilarious!"
2. Learn the Definition
Hilarious (Adjective) Meaning: Extremely amusing; very, very funny.
3. Make it Your Own
You can use "hilarious" to describe a thing (movie, joke, book) or a person.
Examples:
"You have to watch this video. It is hilarious." 📹
"My uncle is hilarious. He always tells great stories." 🗣️
