When you first start learning English, "big" is one of the first words you learn.

It’s a great word!

But when you see something that is truly, incredibly large, "big" or even "very big" isn't quite enough.

If you want to sound more like a native speaker, it’s time to use "Enormous."

Don't just memorise the word! Learn how to use it.


1. See it in Context 👁️

Look at the word in a real situation: "I went to the zoo and saw an enormous elephant.

It was much bigger than the other animals!"

When you see it used for an elephant, you immediately understand that we are talking about something very, very large.


2. Learn the Definition 🧠

Enormous (adjective) means extremely large in size, amount, or degree.

  • Basic: "That is a very big pizza."

  • Advanced: "That is an enormous pizza!"


3. Make it Your Own ✍️

The best way to remember a word is to connect it to your own life.

  • "There is an enormous park near my home."

  • "I have an enormous amount of work to do today."
