Welcome back to On Your Mark's English! Today, we are heading to the supermarket.

For many English learners, shopping can be stressful.

You might know the words for "apple" or "milk," but do you know how to navigate the store itself?

The Layout of the Store

When you enter a supermarket, the first thing you need to find is your aisle.

Most stores group things together, dairy in one aisle, snacks in another.

If you can't find something, you can ask a staff member: "Which aisle is the rice in?"

Saving Money with Vocabulary

Look out for a special offer.

This usually means the price is lower than normal, or you might get a "Buy one, get one free" deal.

Always check the label to make sure the food is still fresh!

At the End of the Trip

Once you have everything in your basket, head to the checkout.

After you pay, the cashier will give you a receipt.

It is a good idea to keep this in your bag, just in case you need to check the prices later.

Practice Exercise:

Next time you go shopping, try to name the items and the parts of the store in English.

Can you find the "Frozen" section? Is there a queue at the "Checkout"?

🎯 Master Daily Life
