Welcome back to On Your Mark's English!
Today, we are hitting the pavement.
As many of you know, I am a huge fan of running.
It’s one of the best ways to stay healthy, but it's also a great way to learn new English verbs.
Before You Start
Never skip your warm-up.
Whether you jog in place or do some light movements, it tells your muscles it’s time to work. Don't forget to stretch afterwards to help your body recover.
Hitting Your Targets
Everyone should have a goal. For some, it’s using the treadmill for 20 minutes.
For others, it might be working with a coach to run a faster race.
When you sprint to that finish line, it doesn't matter how much you sweat.
The feeling of finishing is amazing!
Practice Exercise:
Next time you work out, try to describe what you are doing in English.
"I am warming up now... now I am sprinting!"
This links the physical action to the word in your brain.
