Hello everyone, and welcome to On Your Mark’s English.
Today is Wednesday, and this is Real English Expressions! 💬
We’re learning one of the most generous phrases in English: “It’s on me.”
We use this phrase when we want to pay the bill for someone else.
Imagine you are at a café or restaurant with a friend.
The bill arrives. 🧾
Instead of saying “I will pay for it,” which sounds a little formal, you can simply say: “It’s on me.” 💸
This means the bill is your responsibility.
You can also specify the meal:
• “Lunch is on me.”
• “The coffee is on me.” ☕️
It is a polite and friendly way to treat your friends.
🧠 Remember
When you want to pay, just say: “Put your wallet away. It’s on me.”
✍️ Your Turn!
You want to buy coffee for your best friend. What do you say to them?
Write your sentence in the comments down below.
